What We Do

At Ecowomanist C.I.R.C.L.E., we believe that addressing climate and environmental challenges requires centering the voices, experiences, and leadership of those most impacted by environmental and climate injustice. We work at the intersection of spiritual activism, social justice, and black feminist and womanist principles to create transformative change.

Collaborative Partnerships

We build authentic, reciprocal relationships with grassroots organizations, community leaders, academic institutions, and environmental justice advocates across the globe. These partnerships are rooted in mutual respect and shared commitment to environmental and social transformation.

Hybrid Transnational Educational Networks

Our educational programs bridge geographical and cultural boundaries, utilizing both in-person and virtual platforms to connect communities worldwide. We facilitate knowledge exchange that honors diverse epistemologies and centers Indigenous wisdom, local knowledge, and lived experiences of environmental racism and climate impacts.

Leadership Development

We cultivate the next generation of ecowomanist leaders through comprehensive programs that integrate:

  • Environmental justice frameworks and intersectional analysis
  • Sustainable development practices
  • Trauma-informed and healing-centered approaches
  • Collective leadership models that challenge traditional hierarchies

Retreat Facilitation

Our retreats provide sacred spaces for rest, reflection, healing, and strategic visioning. We recognize that transformative environmental work requires tending to the wellness of activists and community leaders. These gatherings nurture connection to land, to each other, and to the deeper purpose of our work.

Skills and Alliance-Building Workshops

Through participatory workshops, we develop practical competencies including:

  • Climate science communication and environmental literacy
  • Digital storytelling and media strategy
  • Coalition building across movements and sectors

Our Impact

By centering marginalized communities—particularly women, non-binary people, Indigenous communities, and communities of color—we co-create innovative spaces where those on the frontlines of environmental crisis become the architects of solutions. We equip participants with the leadership skills, networks, and resources needed to drive meaningful environmental and climate justice in their communities.
